Welcome to the website for The Allegra Singers of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

We are not your typical choir!

We perform a wide variety of music - from classical to jazz, gospel to musical theatre, world music to pop, folk, rock… you get the picture.

Our goal is to enjoy our music, improve our skills, entertain and touch our audiences and have fun in the process.

Our Director

Jennifer Parlee has been the musical director of the Allegra Singers since 1996.  She is a talented musician and teacher whose leadership and support inspires us to create something wonderful.  As choral singers know, there is no experience like joining voices in harmony.  We couldn’t do it without her.

Our Choir

The Allegra Singers celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2006. We have enjoyed performing in many events in addition to our regular concert series. These include larger events such as “2000 Voices” to celebrate the millennium and “Sing for a Lifetime” in 2002, as well as more

intimate performances for small groups and local businesses. Our venues range from Hatley and Craigdarroch Castles to singing in the park in Ganges on Saltspring Island.

We are a non-profit group, and are dedicated to contributing to other local charities.  Every year the choir members choose the recipients of our efforts.  Past beneficiaries include the Cridge Centre for the Family, Angel Flight of Vancouver Island, the Ovarian Cancer Society, and Project Literacy Victoria, along with many others.

Our Accompanist

Elise Kennedy began working with the Allegra Singers in 2006, bringing many years of experience to the group.  When she’s not behind the piano, look for her in the chorus!

Interested in joining us?

We start the fall season the first Monday after Labour Day and the spring season starts the first Monday after the Christmas Break. We practise from 6:45 to 9:00 p.m. at Shoreline Middle School on Shoreline Drive (just west of the Admirals Rd. and Craigflower intersection). View Google Map. Parking is at the rear of the school. The first two rehearsals of each season are a great opportunity to check us out and decide if you'd like to join.
